Fake - push the tubes together then grab the top of the tree in the box and lift up and out she comes all decorated and lit up, just hook it on the pole and plug in JOB DONE!!

 

Give the kids alittle 2ft tree each to put in thier bedrooms to decorate how they want it!

Real one every time.... they're a ball ache, needles every where but prefer them to fakes personally...

 

I put it up on the 9th Dec, 6 years ago on the 9th my missus waddled down stairs to see mine and the 2 kids handy work on the tree, she was near ready to pop with Isla, in her pregnant hormonal state she started to cry saying it was the most beautiful tree ever.... pregnant woman are a little nuts .... well the tree set her off, and later that night Isla was born, so it always goes up on her birthday now ....

Apart from newkids story,,, it does my head in when folk put them up early,,, ruby sort your self out,,, it the beginning of dec for flecks sake,,,,,

 

1 week befor crimbo,, is early enough,,, and I usually give in to the mrs and kids by then,,,,,, my mum tells me when she was a kid,,, the tree and decarations got put up on Xmas eve,, when the kids went to bed,,,, so when they came down Xmas day,,, it was part of the surprise ........

I don't bother, but if I did it'd have to be real, preferably one that I've found and cut myself. Just sounds a nice tradition to go out with your family and cut your own tree rather than just pull one out of the loft. That's enough of the sentimentality crap.

 

Every year I say I'm gonna go out and make a reef for the door. Make a Hazel hoop and bind evergreens into it and holly etc..... but I never get round to it, LOL...... I must do it this year!

I put ours up 12 days before Christmas and it comes down 12 days after.
