Guest norseman
had a neighbour put a complaint to the animal welfare about my pup's barking. im f***ing furious now the dog is in the garage has a bed, heat, food and clean water. I work until bout 5 so she gets a good walk each evening and a run about the garden with the stinkers. if she hears anyone outside the garage she will bark for a bit but then calms down. its like telling a baby not to cry. has this happened to anyone? and can the c**ts try take my pup? now the girl/warden was nice and said she was happy with the dogs welfare and living quarters and has no real problem. but I have a feeling my neighbour will make this difficult for me Quote Link to post
socks 32,253
Not surprised its barking and kicking up a fuss if its stuck in a garage 8 hours a day ........ 3 Quote Link to post

bedwhippet 164
Had this myself a couple months ago, welfare officer came round because of dogs barking a neighbours filing a disturbance order,, they said for me to bring the dogs inside to avoid any further visits but I just argued that they only bark when someone is out the back of my property I said its a simple security measure, they are protecting there territory and barking lasts no longer than 15-20 mins,, they haven't been back since and I haven't changed anything about there housing,, was just a silly busy body with nothing worthwhile in there own life they have to cause crap for other people Quote Link to post
Chid 6,488
f**k me I'd be pissed off if a neighbour's dog was barking for 15 - 20 mins every time some one went past .... 5 Quote Link to post
bobkizzyhugo 40
no different to being in a kennel. Quote Link to post
moonlighter 1,163
Is it walked in the morning too, if not that's 23 hour lock down! Quote Link to post
bedwhippet 164
Difference is I'm half way down a street and no one really has any reason to walk past the back as it's down an alley so the odd time they do bark is because someone is there keeps everyone's property safe from thieving c**ts simple Quote Link to post

Astanley 11,565
You say its a pup mate , how old is it ? to be honest that's a long time to be locked up , especially for a pup , boredom and lack of stimulation /company wont help your dogs mental development , maybe the barking is genuinely annoying or distressing the neighbours , if I were you , I would be looking for solutions to the problem instead of just getting angry , more exercise / socialising , a different kennel set up that more interesting for the dog , a word with the neighbours to let them know your looking for solutions and asking for their forebearance in the meantime . All this is just my opinion mate , and meant to help . don't take it as a criticism . 4 Quote Link to post
Suzy Ross 236
You seriously lock your pup in a garage? Tell you what mate, see on your day off, put the dog in the house and you sit in the garage for 8 hours, see how it is. 2 Quote Link to post

I know ive a lot to learn but that's why ive put it here. i'll get her walked in the morn before work, get the brother or misses to take her out during the day and then again after work. she really doesn't bark that much that's why I was angry. and also does no one work an 8 hour day and own a dog? surley im not the only one Quote Link to post
beast 1,884
i start work at 7.30 am, and get up at 6 each morning to give the dogs an hour walk, i'm lucky that i can easily come home at lunch to let them out, if i couldnt i would get a neighbour or friend to do so. at one time i even paid a local lad to come lunchtimes to let the dogs out. i finish work at 6, and the dogs get at least an hour walk then. into the house with me after that, and stay in all night. i suggest you get that little dog tired and happy before you leave it, and find someone to let it out in the day. also a garage is not suitable unless it has some natural light and airflow. my kennel is an old garage, but i knocked the front out and put a weldmesh front on. 1 Quote Link to post
