Sheffield Catapults 71
It should have dried by now, has it been drying in a warm environment? What sort of yacht varnish did you use?

Flipper_Al 1,012
Did you put it on neat.... First coat I would have mixed it 50% varnish 50% thinners to thin it down, as it helps the varnish absorb into the wood Second coat 75% varnish 25% thinners Third coat varnish only
B.P.R 2,798
Not keen on varnish mate.... could never get a nice finish... Polyurethene spray (like clear varnish) ..ive been using lately... very light coats.... gives a nice durable finish
GAV*81 15
Al have to buy some of that i seen gamekeeper john on youtube and he was using it
Sheffield Catapults 71
I can't stand polyurethane myself, it gives wood a horrible plasticky feel. If you are going to use it go for an oil based poly, you will get much better results. Just make sure it's durable enough as some of them are easily scratched off. I prefer either a CA glue or a hard wax oil finish, I've found those to be the most durable and nicest looking. Just my opinion though
micckey 106
Ok how polished do you need a catty ... would it be less grip if it was polished or varnished ??
