sussex 5,777
I never shot any doe's this morning , they all had fawns at foot that I think will benefit from another month with their mums . The plan to sit up tonight was a wash out , literally , it chucked down , thunder , lightning the whole lot .So I packed in & went home ,lit the woodburner & had a cold beer ....but did shoot these two this morning ...no great story they were poor looking prickets & happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time ..! Philluk 181
Good that your getting some action there, I've seen more this yr than I did at same time don't know what your thoughts are but I've seen a lot of small doe's not this yrs last yr born but haven't grown a lot. looking at those sticks reminds me I've got to give up on them, I buy the cheap ones but Monday this week I took delivery of a new 27 inch bi pod a camo shirt and expensive set of sticks, being expensive I thought I would look after them. Here we are it's Friday and I'm the person who thought tonight when he cleared his jeep where are the new sticks. Quote Link to post

sussex 5,777
Been there , done it .Those are new ones , the last set which I had tied securely to the back of the quad still extended didn't quite fit in the motor as I drove up the ramp , bent nicely, they never closed again ..... Out on Sun I think, hope so anyway, I`ve been using the bushwear sticks for a coupla years now, looked at expensive ones, but am not convinced yet. Couldn`t do without stick though. These one's are carbon fibre ,weigh nothing ,& fold down so you can shoot prone of them , the bipod on my rifle could become extinct ...they are also the most stable set of sticks I've had , absolutely rock solid , my only worry is how tough they are ..time will tell .... sussex 5,777
Had a guy down sat evening , just as he arrived the rain stopped & managed to get out .As usual the whole plan went to a bag of shite , I put him in what should be the pound seat , another mate in a seat & I wasn'nt going to shoot but as I had the portable in the motor I lent it against the only tree that didn't need trimming to get any sort of a view ,more in the hope of Charlie than anything ....I shot the only deer ...pricket 25m from the seat ..always the way . 79lb in the chiller ... Every time you look round its got something else in its gob ...the tv controller is fcuked after it weed on it , my mobile has the screen cracked after it dropped it off the armchair onto the oak floor , various socks ,gloves have gone missing , the lamp got pulled of the table ...the thing could eat & shite for England ......BUT .....its the funniest thing to have about , pure joy , its amazing how many hours you can waste puppy watching ....
