Marine Found Guilty Of Murder

Recommended Posts

It's just politics at the end of the day. We all know a dead insurgent ain't gonna kill anybody but the Geneva Convention is a pretty powerfull document that our government can use to our advantage more than it will be used to our dissadvantage. Fact is those Marines knew what the situation was and how to make their lives a little safer, filming it though was a severe error of judgement. They knew the risks so can't cry when caught foul, that doesn't mean I dissagree with what they did at all.

Similarly with hunting with dogs, a man that goes out with the intention of coursing a deer knows the risks and can't moan if caught, doesn't mean I dissagree with what he has done.

How are they immoral? If the sandal was on the other foot, he would be taken to a cave somewhere and his head cut off with a bread knife.   Live by the sword die by the sword imo   I don't thin

He should have claimed it was 'Pre Ban'

So that he would have been saved patched up and returned to his village so that he could plant an IED or shoot a British soldier so that a baby in the uk loses a daddy or a Mother loses a son ........

The police can lose a terror suspect who was tagged in a mosque but not a video on someones pc, i have a feeling its more to do with deals over the handover and talks with the taliban than justice, its just a shame they had to do by making one of our forces a sacrificial lamb

I have mixed emotions what took place, it has come to light by accident but he was heard to say i have just broke the geneivoir convetion he. Knew he was commiting a crime he also put his comrades in a situation. The taliban do not regonise any convention ,

But to walk over to a criticaly wounded human being and shoot him in the stomach not cricket but the same people have no compasion when laying ied's so live by the sword die by the sword , he will serve his time for murder but live his life regreting one moment of maddnes , or in his head he took retrobution Only the man himself knows

If I had watched mates and people I grew a bond with die at the hands of such people I wouldn't let em die quick with one in the head. I would make you suffer and get as much info as I can get out of you. Watched other night abit off subject but people being interviewed about snowden from mi5 and mi6 and they seemed well spoken snobs. Was just wondering for them to become the top blokes and shown for interviews had they got their hands dirty?

How are you going to conduct a field interrogation with a seriously wounded man when you don't speak his language? Or do you have a hidden talent for Pashtun which we don't know about?

The respective heads of MI5 and MI6 will have been selected for their excellent work in their fields over the course of their careers. I for one am pleased that we have highly experienced, highly educated men in roles of such importance to our national security. Who would you rather was in charge?

They would have been recruited from Oxford, Cambridge etc and to be a director they would have served time in the field .......

"Well spoken snobs"............ they'll be the people making sure you and your family sleep safe at night. Just because they're not in battle dress don't think for a minute the brains and suits of MI5, MI6 and GCHQ aren't fighting a war.

The paras and marines do the same as infantry regiments on land based jobs ... Obviously the marines are the water born experts and the paras jump out of planes ... The sas are in a different league altogether ..........

. And sbs socks

And SRR (the det) seeing as we're naming them all, lol.

Ok then and the pathfinders lol ........

SAS, SBS and SRR are UK Tier 1 Special Forces. Special Forces Support Group (SFSG) based on 1 PARA, with personnel from the Royal Marines and the RAF Regiment provide the Tier 2.

The Pathfinders the a company strength Brigade Recce Force for 16 Air Assault Brigade. When other Brigades have been on Herrick tours, they have formed a Brigade Recce Force from all cap badges of their brigade. They have a selection process similar to that of PF, and their on tour role is exactly the same. Obviously they won't do the high altitude parachute training...

On topic, the Marine's actions were immoral and illegal. He has been found guilty and will face an appropriate punishment for it.

How are they immoral?

If the sandal was on the other foot, he would be taken to a cave somewhere and his head cut off with a bread knife.

Live by the sword die by the sword imo

I don't think there is any room for political correctness in a war zone.

There is certainly not any room for sending troops out to fight your battles then not giving them 100% support when They need it.

Scandalous.

Found guilty of murdering an insurgent who was trying to kill them only shortly before?

So, you're only allowed to kill he enemy under certain circumstances? When all is said and done, the Marine was only doing his job !

i agree with Stranger - he who lives by the sword.......................
