I was told by my vet that the hob needs to be in season for the snip so spring would be best.

Its easier on the hob if the testes are descended the semen tubes are only small and your vet needs to be on the ball its easy to confuse the blood supply to the balls with the semen tubes and if there retreated back into the body theres no a lot of room and it could lead to a error and at six months there no going to fully developed . I would wait till the spring the only downside is then your going to have to wait the required time for the hob to empty his tanks before you can use him but it wont do jills any harm to wait a couple of months

asked the vet about getting my hob done and she just said its about £15 , never mentioned about it needs to be in the spring. first ferrets myself so I think ill wait till spring then if that's what you boys reckon

Better double check mate ,that sounds way too cheap £70 here and they want the same to send the cut bits off to the laboratory to see if they have cut the right bits off

Getting them done threw a ferret club can help but that does sound really cheap i know when i phone them i ask about the price for a vasectomy ,and when i drop him off i remind them its a vasectomy and put a note on the carry box . as getting a castrated ferret backs of no use to me for the jills

When I got my hob snipped rung around all the vets in my area and the cheapest I got was £71.40 most expensive was £134. £15? they've made a mistake surely.
