Anyone Out There Hunting Or Trapping Mink?

Hi all, I was hoping that someone on here can help me out. I have a friend in the UK that want's to get a mink, but hasn't had any luck catching one. Is there anyone on here who traps mink, or hunts them with dogs, who would be willing to help her out? If so, send me a private message and we'll talk further.

im not sure but, i think if you catch a mink in the uk it must be destroyed and would be illegal to release once trapped?

Beware there's a lot of nut jobs in the uk especially surrounding the new must have animal if she has dabbled in eu's give her a wide birth : ). In fact if I were you I'd give the whole idea a wide birth I feel you are being conned .

No, she just want's one as a pet. She's been trying to get one for years now. She lives in Ireland, and can't seem to get any of the mink farmers to sell her one, and she's had no luck catching one ether. So since she's been at it for a couple years now without any luck, I said I'd try to find someone that would help her out. If she can't get someone close to her to catch her one, she's going to have to go all the way to France or maybe Denmark where she has connections to get a baby ranch mink.

Yep, I'm quite the nutter!

 

 

 

 

you are right, a baby would make a better pet, but she's quite desperate at this point, and will take what she can get. She has plenty of experience with wild animals, and I'm sure that with my help she would do just fine with a wild caught adult.

I don't think you're allowed to keep them at all (apart from the farms)...they're an invasive species which if caught have to be destroyed, plus i'm not sure the authorities would be pleased if they caught her with it.

i hunt catch and kill quite a few mink and if your friend wants a live wild adult mink then it would be no problem to get her one but tell her this she,ll posiblily never play the banjo again after she.s tried to handle it be careful what you pick up

I was out of work for 2 months last year and i caught 9,that was with two traps,borrowed off the local gun club.She cant be trying too hard if she cant get one in a year

Not a chance of taming an adult one.
