daniel.sz 0
Hi, I would like to have some insights about the international practices of deer management. If the managers would write about their practices, it would be really great. Once I made a model for red deer population dynamics, which helps to estimate the actual number of red deers in an area more precisely, and also helps to plan the long term management through the estimate of cohort dynamics. I think this model would be really useful for the managers if it would be available online, but it needs a bunch of data about the population which wanted to be modelled. I mean a rough estimate of the population size (broke down to stag, hint and calf) back to several years, performed ideally by the same kind of estimation method. Also the hunting pressure in each years. The more data is available, the better the model can be. So I would like to ask, would you find a tool like this helpful? And what kind of data do you collect about the populations on your area, and what kind of methods do you use? Quote Link to post
