Westy76 546
A good guard dog is far better than any padlocks chains and for cameras there only good too look at the Next day when u realise is too late the scum have already been with there faces covered.. Look how many people post( my dogs been stolen I have caught the thives on cctv)CCTV MEANS NOTHING... A GOOD GUARD DOG WILL BITE ATTACK AN ALSO WAKE U UP.... As I said before guard dog not an option, within half and hour I could have a flock of the nastiest dogs chained up out there but it's still a family home with kids either side always kicking the ball over etc and even if you've got a dog loose its hardly difficult to sort that out either nothing is 100% and I don't want to live in Fort Knox either.Locks, cameras, lights and a live wire sounds good enough to me. 2 Quote Link to post

neems 2,406
You'd be responsible for any damage done by barbed wire etc even if someone was trying to break in,so I'd just stick with anti-vandal paint. That back fence does look vulnerable to me even if there is a ditch the other side, one fella could easily pass your dogs over to another. So I'd anti-vandal tar that fence and your kennel roof and get some big pad locks for a start, then get your dogs barking if someone they don't know tries to open their kennel. Quote Link to post
DeerhoundLurcherMan 997
My grandad used a trip wire on his shed door and on his gate, Clear fishing line attached to a rape alarm... They are cheap, and f**king loud, like hurt your ears loud. So easy and so effective. Quote Link to post
Qbgrey 4,115
screw some carpet gripper to the inside of the fence at the top.f...ks jump up and grab to climb.............assaid put a real prickly hedge on outside, also alarm mine the doors,or lawn somewhere.also try not to have a routine, like 5pm off work, pub till 7pm,dinner 8pm,last walk 10pm,cause they will nab em between times. Qbgrey 4,115
the problem is if the back fence is no go they run threw adjacent gardens,so you got to do everything to slow em up. Quote Link to post
bobby blackheart 1,209
they have tried to kick through my mates run like yours from the back-12mm ply with screws every 1 1/2 inches lining the inside for if they try it again they will try anything to get your dogs,12 bore blanks and a dropper on a little trip wire at head height for when they open the door-BANG! next to the ear-cameras,pir sensors and a big f***ing dog that roams at night 1 Quote Link to post
Westy76 546
Spent all afternoon putting locks on the kennels, side fence to neighbours garden is being raised Sunday, someone put a security link up earlier with some good gear on it with fence top security that's been ordered and cameras will be ordered soon with sensor lights. Thanks for your input lads. Quote Link to post
squab 2,875
get yourself some fishing bite alarms, even the cheap ones are very effective you can set lines from them where you need, they are loud and if set correctly will deter a scumbag long before he has got to the kennell doors Quote Link to post
Huan72 687
You can not make something 100% scum proof but you can slow them down and put them off to an extent were they wont bother. Definitely make the fence more difficult to climb and rig PIR lights and sound alarms to go off as soon as they cross the fence, the louder and brighter the better. Put any cable in armoured sleeving or used armoured cable and lay a dummy cable so that when they try and cut it the sound/lights still carry on. Will put the s**ts up em. Have back up PIR lights away from the kennels, the 500 or 1000 watt type to floodlight the whole area. On one of the alarms have a voice recorded message...................just so they know how much you appreciate them Also be very careful about who comes round and most importantly, don't tell anyone about any security measures that you have put in place Quote Link to post
