Pre ban where collie x greyhound ever used for hare coursing, would they have use them in matches?

they caught hares for sure but the purists wouldn't call it coursing, picking them out of the seat or cover, hunting them up so now law given etc, a few 1st x's are racy enough to catch them in a fair run but certainly not match dogs as we now them

I had a 3/4 bred he was just like a big greyhound 28tts and he stopped plenty of hares but I doubt he would of made much of a fen dog, he was more suited to mooching about hunting his hares up
