stevie67 42
headed out yesterday for a stalk with a mate, the weather was cold grey and damp but not as wet as past few days so thought we might catch a few out grasing. after dropping my mate at his spot i headed to mine. i hunted 2 places with not even a glimse of a deer then i went to the last place for last hour, i was almost finished hunting as light was fading fast when i spotted a yearling doe she had me spotted to and ran about 100 yards and stopped broudside to me, unfortunatly i couldnt shoot as she was between me and a road so i watched her trot off. i had 1 more green feild to check before calling it a day so i crossed the road and stalked 100 yards up the headge row. when i got to the top of it i could see the silloitte of what looked to be a fallow pricket 60 yards out in the green field, i new the shot would have to be quick so i put my sticks down and got behind a tree, he had moved away from me when i was getting into position and i lost sight of him as the light was almost gone and he had cover behind him. i checked the feild with scope and there he was 100 yards out broudside looking in my direction. i put 1 straight into his shoulder, he leapt in the air then tore off into the field. i found him 50 yards past were he was shot and to my surprise it was a second head sika, theres a few there but there normally in a different area. sorry bout pics last light on my phone Quote Link to post
