My two biggest pet hates, 'the patch dog', substitute any name other than patch, and 'smash', especially when used in the same context, eg, 'by the patch dog, smashing 'teeth' at 10 months, no 'reverse gear' blah blah! What happened to 'from good working parents', or is that another sign of the times?

Patch with a capital 'P' and it was 9 months

Hahaha , know of a few pups that were tried at about that age from the valleys, promising pups ruined
