page one to four mate, have a good read, if still aint sure google. am sure you will find real answers. its yoru country to, look into it, find the answers, dont guess

http://www.snp.org/referendum/faqs

white paper is on the way, theres hope for you and scot yet

Yes, the National Health Service is currently run by the Scottish Parliament and Government and will remain so. In terms of health policy, Scotland is already effectively independent.

The Scottish Government will continue to fund all the health services it currently provides, including cross-border services. Medical experts have already made clear that the contracts already in place to provide for cross-border treatment would carry on in exactly the same way.

EU Directives protect our access to cross-border treatment, and there are also seperate agreements in place with countries outwith Europe.

Scotland would have its own defence forces and would inherit and maintain our military bases and regiments. We would continue to work in partnership with other nations. It would be for future Scottish Governments to shape a defence policy best suited to the country’s needs. Our defence profile could be similar to neighbouring nations such as Denmark, Sweden, Finland or Norway. Scotland’s contribution to UK defence spending is around £3.3billion. Experts from the Royal United Services Institute have confirmed that this would be more than enough to support a defence force that could be “extraordinarily good” by 2030. The UK Government only spend around £2 billion of the defence budget in Scotland. The SNP advocate a defence budget of £2.5 billion – less than we currently contribute, and more than is currently spent. We would get rid of Trident nuclear weapons from Scotland, saving money that could be bette spent elsewhere. Crucially, it would be for the Scottish Government to decide whether members of the Scottish defence forces should be sent abroad in support of international action.

Woah, now you've lost me. I thought manufacture and production of British warheads was carried out by the AWE.... a privatised company effectively under UK Gov control.

???

We have total control of our nuclear deterent and furthermore give our sub commanders total control of launching them needing no physical authorisation procedure from the Uk Gov unlike our US allies.

Just because Scotland currently chucks in £3B and only receives £2B in direct millitary spending doesn't mean that £2B or even the £2.5B quoted would fund a adequate never mind "extraordinarily good" defence force. The UK defence budget is in excess of £35B to cover everything, that covers defence systems outside of Scotland that directly support Scottish military assets.

Will that £2.5B budget cover Frigates, coastal patrol vessels, air defence Destroyers and amphibious assault ships as part of a basic Naval service capable of rapid deployment of troops and assets? An independant Scotland will need a capable air superiority fighter for air defense, they're not cheap! Or would Salmond rely on the UK Gov to defend the skys? Medium and heavy lift transport planes for troop deployment. Airborne command and control centers as well as coastal patrol planes.

What's the crack gonna be with the current UK military assets? Are we expected to divvy you up your fair share on parting company or do you have to start from scratch?

£2.5B don't sound a lot for an "extraordinarily good" proffessional military.....

If the day ever comes it'll be a very sad point in the history of this Island!

Lockheeds build them bud far as i know then we arm them through some mad lease deal with the yanks as part of a joint strike agrement on the old ussr atacking europe. Might have all changed now

They build the Trident missile yeah, which I believe is a result of contracts promised to help deal with our post WWII debt to them. I didn't realise we leased the missiles though, we deffo make the warheads in house, well to my knowledge.

One thing an independant Scotland would have is Infantry and SFs that are second to none! But I just can't see how you could muster anything more than a half arsed defence force. You would rely heavily on your allies for military support in deployment and power projection and the number one ally would probably be the ones you were so desperate to escape from.

It makes absolutely no sense to separate other than five minutes of pride.
