For a good walk start on the London dungeon on Tooley st then walk to Southwark cathedral right behind that is Sir Francis Drake famous ship the Golden hinde . Two minutes walk to Borough market for some good food. Then a little known wax museum in the Clink prison museum , your see how they used to deal with poachers in there back in the day lol. Then next to that there's Shakespeare globe theatre and a few minutes more and your on to the London eye. All them are a few minutes walk from one another.

Good first day and the kids are shattered, could've done with the scooter Stig lol..

We done the eye and an open bus tour which also gives us a 2 day pass for river cruises and bus trips so we're gonna jump on the cruise to Greenwhich on Saturday morning ( depending on my head as I'm out for a couple with my cousins Friday night lol)..

Maybe London's no everyone's cup of tea but for iconic architecture and history there is nowhere that can beat it in this country or many others IMO.. The kids were made up to see Big Ben, Buckingham palace, Trafalgar Square..... Oh and Hamleys ( that hurt a bit lol)....

More of the same tomorrow the kids will sleep well tonight lol..

Ah ignore the London haters! I would rather microwave my head than live there, and I get out the car and walk whenever I come within 50 mile radius of driving in London. (f**k THAT) but you can't deny theres plenty of fun to be had in the big city. For kids theres loads of cool fun attractions and I love visiting the historic places and museums. Not to mention the shows and nightlife if your into that stuff.

But yeah coming from the Forest of Dean I couldn't take the pace 24/7, I'd go mad.

By my reckoning that should be a walk........Buck House down Birdcage Walk to Big Ben......up Whitehall to Trafalgar Sq...................through Leicester Sq past the Trocadero and Eros up Regent St to Hamleys ?????...................thats if you planned it properly :D

Try and do a day over the other side as well Hyde park,Harrods,Natural History Museum etc.....................hope your having a great time anyway.

The same as me Astral, I would not trade my life in Devon to live in London... But that does not mean I don't love going there, it's a different world and although I've been there loads of times I still get exited around the place... And the kids faces at the top of the eye with London sprawled below was worth the trip alone...

As for the " London haters" lol.. It's never gonna be for everyone, but then what is? I'd say I'm fortunate to live amongst some of the nicest scenery in England but nowheres like London...

The Angel Islington is the place for the antique markets...............bit off the beaten track but probably like an Alladdins cave for anyone into that game.
