Skittles 3 Posted October 29, 2013 Report Share Posted October 29, 2013 My uncle trained and raced greyhounds, those for coursing were always heavier and not as flat as a track racers. Again ill mention toes, if you want to use a greyhound learn how to push them in as jammed toes are regular. Quote Link to post
Maximus Ferret 2,063 Posted October 29, 2013 Report Share Posted October 29, 2013 Loosely speaking there are two types of Irish greyhound. The track dogs are the same as English track dogs. Because most coursing here is "Park" coursing, the coursing hounds are usually a bit taller and bred to go fast in a straight line. There is nothing to replace the English coursing greyhound which has been mostly lost since the ban. They were reckoned by many to be the best for lurcher breeding. 1 Quote Link to post
