Accip74 7,112
I'll try & elaborate, cos you are obviously after a list of pros & cons, which is very difficult cos the variable's vary a lot between handlers. Imprint: pros : flying at higher weight's perhaps : fearless of everything around it, if imprinted well : will maybe stand for AI : due to fearless nature may commit harder to flights, I.e more likely to bind in the air to game birds : cons: can be extremely vocal in field & at home : can be aggressive, often need to be flown to lure in first season : harder to find correct flying weight : doesn't really know what it is! PR : pros: As easy as a Harris hawk to find flying weight : when manned properly is rarely aggressive : a lot less vocal, should be silent in field & mostly silent at home : a true representation of a goshawk :cons: can be very hard to man down : you may need to reduce their weight more to get good response : maybe harder to breed from But these are all subjective to the individual handler, this is in no way a representation of all examples,it's really what you make the bird, these are just some of the basics, but many people will disagree according to their personel experience. If you put a lot of work into a parent reared & you do your homework, you shouldn't go wrong......fantastic birds to hunt with..... Quote Link to post
