djs7547 104
thanks guys, i know of afew ppl myself that would not have carried her back, but in my mind she ran her ass off for me at every possible occasion, its the very least i could do. there was no way i was leaving her her running days are definitely over , she has been for a major op today in which they fitted a full titanium pin on the leg, and fused the knuckle with 4 pins. they originally tried an external cage to stop the leg from twisting but with her legs so thin it never worked, so this is the last resort to savin the leg . one can only hope . thanks agan folks for the comments. djs7547 104
hi guys thanks for the messages, its gonna be a hard and costly road, but as i said i was not leaving her (probably cause im scared what my mrs would do to me lol) na in all honesty, id do whatever it takes to get her on the mend. she gave me her all when i asked it of her, so its only right i do the same for her in return. i know a lot of people think "to hell with keeping a lurcher that cant run after such a horrific injury" and would put her down. i guess everyone has there own opinion and views , which is fine, but for me i treat every dog iv had as a family member and not just a worker. i reckon, for me anyway, the dog bonds better and works better for me. chris, im not sure yet bud, tbh , you know yourself its just not the same going out with other people's dogs when your used to having your own at your side. but i will give you a bell. tam phoned yesterday and asked if i minded running his dogs on my permissions as i would not be out for a good bit, so i made the relevant calls and he is headed there on sunday, (he has been dying to get permission for the flats) lol why dont u go with him. for the moment though im just gonna let her heal and wait n see. boyo/fatboy , thank you so much for the kind offer , its well appreciated , i will speak to the mrs and get back toyou . its true what they say eh " true dog men are a different breed , they look after their own" you definitely come into that category . i will pm you my number , and thanks again 4 Quote Link to post

djs7547 104
a wee update and a question for you all iv just returned from the vet, and he says " mr @!"$@ its looking likely that the op is binding, although there is major discharge from leg. the main problem though is her leg appears to be rolling inward as if the pin has moved or in some way twisred. if it keeps going her toes could end up pointing backwards, though still be able to walk as her knuckle has been fused. " has anyone ever encountered anything like this? as iv never came across this before. Quote Link to post
doyley 116
Very sorry to hear that mate hope all goes well with the vets atb jamie 1 Quote Link to post
