Like I said im happy n we are totally inseparable....... Its just with my inexperience and my mate takin the p*ss all the time I didn't know what to think! When you look at him from the front his legs do bend inward and his head is a lot smaller than my friends terrier's, I think I posted this more for a constructive opinion from people in the know rather than my mate who seems not to like the way he looks

nowt wrong with him mate, your happy he,s happy, feck your mate, enjoy getting out,atb mc

I never directed any comment at you,but ,yes, your dog has been bred by some person with no thought for looks as you so rightly say, prick ears and poor conformation are also major faults for all to see,WM

i like a good looking tyke as much as the next man,and im all for good breeding, but i never saw a dog graft with its lugs, atb mate the kids happy, alls well, atb mc

He goes to ground instantly aswell! All be it to retrieve rabbits thet the ferrets have killed! But I didn't teach him that he just did it! He was 5 foot deep the other day in a rabbit warren I even filmed it on my camera just dont know how to get it on here yet!

Mitch,I can see by your posts your as green as grass mate and I bear you no malice in anyway but its not a good trait in a working terrier of any sort to allow it to enter rabbit warrens, they can soon get in trouble even with a locator collar on,by all means let your dog mark the hole as "occupied",your ferret should be wearing a locator collar for when you get a kill or a lay up,take a spade and dig it, its easier in the long run and your dog will not learn bad habits that could get it killed on the likes of railway embankments, motorway bridges, etc,do you collar (locator) your dog up when out working it ?? I do hope so as enthusiasm will not save a trapped terrier.

I made my original post as I believe most people starting off look to step up on their next dog, most would look to improve their stock as they gain more experience, but it seems the "ugly dog brigade" have found a voice in this thread,as a breeder of terriers I am always looking to improve my stock,I might add that I've never shown a terrier in my life but do appreciate a good looking working terrier, atb,WM

yes i do appreciate a good looking dog WM but i never have and never will breed for looks! i have a black dog with pricked ears, should it be PTS? its clear you prioritzie looks over working ability when breeding otherwise you wouldn't be a plummer man!

I havent taken any of the post's badly, its been good to hear both sides...... And as for the going to ground thing I allways collar my ferrets and after the otherday when he entered the warren, wich I didn't encourage he just did off his own back im now in the middle of finding the dog a locator! I see your point about it but how do you stop a dog from bolting down a hole??? He recalls fine but he getts head strong at times like that
