Don't Know Why People Reccomend Beddyxwhippet For 1St Lurcher

Recommended Posts

After having lurchers all me life decided on a beddyxwhippet for me new hunting companion (2 year old now) lovely little bitch now but quite difficult in 1st year still needs good handling now to keep her from hunting on ect also with this cross you've got to know there limits there a dog for people that have specific requirements in my opinion no good as an allrounder imo no good taking them on big open land and the like some will disagree but for me their a good dog if u know what u want but not a beginner's dog for me

I've got a 3/4 whip 1/4 bed and she's a lot easier than my brothers first x...

But she has faults, too nervy especially around dogs she doesn't know, she ain't a bad rabbitter when fit, no world beater...

The first x is really head strong..

Mine is good with the ferrets, very patient and picks up bolters nicely..

Like any dogs they've got there faults, and personally I think they're rabbit dogs... If pre ban you were after other quarry they wouldn't be your dog of choice...

Only my opinion and I'm sure people will be quick to tell me they are fox and deer dogs...

My uncle had two first xs a dog and a bitch. The bitch was re-homed to his mate as a pet, because she was a yapper. The dog was and still is his best mate, about 12 years old. Its the hardest little dog I've been around. Lives to kill, not interested in attention or anything other than killing. Jet black wirery haired racy thing. He has killed everything from rats, ducks, cats, rabbits, hares and foxes. He killed about 50 foxes in his time. Well past it now, looks like a fat old collie.

One man dog. Tough as f**k.
