craig09090 11
I have a essb almost 6 month, I've put a radio in with her as the idiots round my way like to start early with the old fireworks, was this a good idea? Any advice would be great Atb Craig. Quote Link to post
Philluk 181
Seems as good as any, I've not long come from 7 hours of shooting my dogs won't move if one want off under him. Anything to keep him occupied, my last terrier used to come to a fireworks eve as I worked at one during the display I played ball with him and he was fine. Quote Link to post

camokev64 36
It's funny how dogs work in the shooting field but some still have a reaction to the sound of fireworks. Some of mine are no exception.I pipe Classic FM to them 24-7 anyhow but crank it up abit more at Bomby fortnight...Or I could get the worse case on the treadmill all night.... Nik_B 3,790
Most important thing is not to react. If you just then the dog will, if you get stressed or worried the dog will pick up on it. Many people might not believe it but dogs can hear our heart beats and also smell adrenaline amongst other things so the minute you get anxious the dog will do so as well. You can get CD's to desensitise dogs to certain sounds although it's getting late now you can still do it. Basically play the CD when they are eating food especially high value stuff so they build up positive or neutral connections to them, gradually you increase the volume. Quote Link to post
