Max Yells-James 34
Hi guys, i was thinking of getting a new scope for vermin control purposes but don't know which of the two to get? What do you think? thanks Quote Link to post
Gaz 177 263
I previously had a Mamba with the scb reticle but now have the Hawke Sidewinder Both good scopes but the Hawke Sidewinder gets my vote Quote Link to post
andy97 209
I have both scopes looked through one today and bought it straight off think its better than the winder with same mag imo clearer 1 Quote Link to post

magnummike 39
I have got a viper SCB ret and a Tac 3O half mildot so nearly the same I would have the Hawke as I like the half mildot Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Got Hawkes on all of my main rifles, Mary had an MTC, whited out when shot in the same direction as the sun was coming from! Quote Link to post
chrisjpainter 10
Got Hawkes on all of my main rifles, Mary had an MTC, whited out when shot in the same direction as the sun was coming from! I found the same with my Mamba. total whiteout on anything above a 5X mag. I didn't have the same problem with the Mamba Lite, but I've gone back to Hawke now too. Quote Link to post
TimS 49
They are both good mate. best bet is to get to a shop and see which one you like the most! I like MTC scopes personally, but of the two, the Hawke is probably the better option. Now if you were comparing a Viper/Genesis or Connect, I would take the MTC. Tim Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
Had a mamba, currently have a mamba lite.. next scope will be a sidewinder SR pro. I have a hawke panorama aswell, and theres not much difference between them all, all very good scopes! 1 Quote Link to post
WoodsmanJim 160
I've had both MTC (viper) and Hawke (tac30 sidewinder) have stuck with the MTC. Build quality is not comparable, the Hawke felt cheap, the MTC is very sturdy. I'd say the Hawke 10x half mildot is he slightly better reticle but the SCB is very useable and still does the job well. Overall, is never go back to Hawke unless they seriously improve quality. Just my 2p though! Have a look at them both, you'll know which one you like the feel of instantly I'm sure. KurtH 74
Go for the Hawke....I had the Mamba and the Viper - Thought the Mamba was better than the Viper so sold the Viper and got the Hawke Sidewinder 30mm 4-16x50 SR PRO IR SF... Great scope indeed Quote Link to post
