weasle 1,119
Took pups out for there second morning with the ferrets yesterday, good to see one pup giving a good mark at first bury.Starting to learn to respect the nets a bit only had to untangle one pup. Rabbits were bolting well ended with 15 would have had double but a ferret found her way down the hedge a couple of 100 yards to a warren i was intending to do,looked down the hedge to see rabbits hoping around so picked up the ferret and called it a day(didn't realize at the time but good job i did). The old bitch did a good job picking up a couple that had missed the nets, did miss one though, just as i was picking up ferrets. All was well until i got home and opened the van door bitch leg ballooned, gracilis muscle. Vet not around till tomorrow but i don't really need to see him to know thats it for this season. Ferreting not easy on your own but will be very difficult without a dog to watch one side of the hedge, but at least i will have pups for company. No lamping for this season though, even last night wind and rain battering windows instead of reaching for lamp, had to open another beer. Its going to be a long old season.. Few photos not great i always forget Edited November 11, 2013 by weasle Quote Link to post

weasle 1,119
what a horrible injury. You must be guttedYes she's very do or die,she has a old shoulder injury and a toe of, so road works not a option, but thought I had her coming along nicely been building up the numbers on the lamp and we've been enjoying our selves.Had a second lurcher that I didn't enjoy a bit to half hearted so when a good pet home came I took the chance and gave her away.E ven without a dog still don't regret that decision though. 1 Quote Link to post
