HAWKE SIDEWINDER 30. 3-12X50 IR. DAYSTATE AIRSTREAM 6 SILENCER. DAYSTATE HARDSHELL CARRY CASE. AIR TANK. HOSES. 2 TINS OF BISLEY MAGNUMS. (It loves em!) BUT IT'S NOT FOR ME! It's all my Helen's Christmas present for her, and she'll be joining in the shooting fun at future THL meets with it. It's nice to have a woman in your life who enjoys your sport too! Daz 7 563 Posted October 19, 2013 Report Share Posted October 19, 2013 (edited) Very Nice indeed Simon Was it also an Excuse for You to have a Shoot with the Huntsman as well as i know You like this Pretty little Rifle as well I shall be hopefully be competing in the Comps next year with a Grand Old Boy the Theoben Sirrocco 1985 vintage left hand totally Standard and unmolested .22 cal Recoiler as i don't think My Hunting Rig the TTR 1 .25 cal Killing machine was meant for target shooting, Especially with the 25.4 gr pellets in sub 12 ft/lbs atvb Daz 7. It'll be a lovely thing to share with her, teach her properly, safely and correctly and for us to enjoy into our old age together. At least she will know why I will come home with another rifle or scope or both (Diana 54 Airking is next on the cards for me! ) I read a lot of posts from lads who have a wife or partner with no interest at all and are not supportive of their fellas sport. That must be tough to live with sometimes. I'm honestly very lucky in this respect. (Mind you, I have a secret yearning to build me a model railway layout and I know I'm going to be very alone on that one! ) Andy, I think we will have an addition to our target sessions in the new year mate. Helen has developed a genuine thing for shooting but, being only a slightly built lass of 5ft 5in my HW and Air Arms springers are too big and heavy for her to carry around all day and she expressed a preference for a pcp. She's on film shooting 2p pieces off target boards at thirty yards with Davy's HW97KT synthetic and has already shot at Old Downs with Davy's Air Arms PCP and achieved a creditworthy. score of 36 for her very first day ever shooting an HFT course. Neil, at the recent meet on Sunday last week, I could tell she was itching to get shooting with us all. She would have been down in the mud as much as any of us. Moxy Helen deserves every little luxury she gets, mate. She works bloody hard for not a lot of money. She's got a heart of pure honest gold for everyone. She deserves a bit of quality kit if she's ever going to get serious about the sport. I believe she will. And this rifle will last her well throughout her developement. No question. It's an all right-hander stock, Mike. It's all hers and hers alone my friend. But I must say how easy it was to shoot a tight, single-pellet group with ten rounds of Bisley Magnums from the magazine. I am well impressed with how well this rifle is built and the stock is beautiful. A rich Walnut with a lovely honey coloured patina and swirl. The chequering and finish is absolutely lovely, I must say. Daz, it is an incredibly easy rifle to shoot well, even from a left shoulder with a right-bias butt-comb. This Daystate is one amazingly serious rifle. I am very impressed by what it can shoot to and how genuinely one pellet-hole accurate it is. It is the nicest looking PCP of the Daystate stable in my view and, Villaman, I am not going to shoot another shot with it or you will be proved very correct. I suppose I will have to demonstrate a few points with it and that's going to be hard to resist falling for it further. There's this Huntsman Regal version out now, isn't there! And I think you are right, she will be whipping me and my poor old springers into a cocked hat before long...I told her the other night how I will be carrying on with my humble spring rifles...( I still like to think we spring-rifle men earn our marksmanship with a bit of work and know-how ) Helen has a natural aptitude for shooting, as I think, a lot of ladies do, I agree with you there Skot. If they only would only stop getting in their husband faces over him having a shooting hobby or something and give it a go themselves. I honestly believe she really will whoop my butt with this Daystate rifle mate. It handles lovely, the weight for her is just right and there's ten shots in the magazine to shoot with. Not bad at all. And I cannot stress any more just how accurate this rifle really is. I'm very well-taken and admire it very much to be honest. She's not going to go hunting with it, that's not for her. But I'll turn her into what I believe she will really excel at and that's target and HFT shooting. I'll dare say she'll be in with the medals and trophy or two with it before very long. There must be more than a few Ladies among our members' wives and partners here who would make up a formidable Ladies THL HFT Shooting team.
