Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
Now then lads! been out today for a plinking session for a few hours to run the recently re lubed 77k in and have a proper go with the hw98, took a mate aswell for a bit of company and to enjoy a lovely afternoon in the woods at the farm So the hw77k has had about 250-300 through it now and has smoothed out a bit, its shootable at 35 yards, and probably further after it settles down a bit more, and I put the scope on properly , rather than throw it on in 2 mins lol its smoother to cock now, but still gives an awful twang, as suspected it would, due to the pretty loose fitting spring. ah well. its louder aswell than its stablemate the 98.. >> as for the SFS 98 ... AMAZING! such a pleasure to shoot, even all 3 of my mates who have tried it have agreed its in a different league! especially after I shot this 5 shot 50 yard group,!! oh and managed to bag a woody on the way home round the back of the farm, misjudged the distance , must have been 40 yards rather than the 30-35 I judged it at, dropped straight away, into some cowdung lol --but I ran over and put one in its head so it suffered no more than 10 seconds. a good shot in quite a breeze, I got the windage estimated bang on but the pellet dropped as I thought it was closer than it was! hit it in the middle of the back about 2cm lower than I would have liked but as I say, it didn't suffer. -------------------------------- pics to follow .Guns. 98 35 yards zero 5 shots. 98 50 yards 5 shots. 77k with dodgy scope at 50 yards lol. first kill for 98.. Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
Cheers mate. if I would have been indoors with no breeze then it would have been a 1 hole group. the 2 shots to the left were due to a slight breeze getting up as i9 was shooting the group. cant beat that! 1 Quote Link to post
dangerousdan 16
Your 98 looks lovely rifle mate. Did you have a stage 1 or stage 2 tune? Quote Link to post

Just a stage 1 as far as I know.. I got it second-hand not sure if there could be anything else done to this rifle to make it better than it already is??!! Quote Link to post
dangerousdan 16
I really do love how that rifle looks. It just looks the business. It looks hardcore lol. I think its the very thick barrel that makes it look so mean! Wonder what difference is between stage 1 and stage 2 then? Edited October 19, 2013 by dangerousdan Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
Yes mate. Tony as only made the Imp so far in .22. He said its because its harder to get the power to where he likes it with the .177 small spring he uses. The spring in the Imp is just a bit longer than a bic pen so I'm told. Due to it being small the recoil is very minimal VM. Im just uploading a demo of the Imp now (not the full review though). Quote Link to post

These are two beautiful rifles you have here. I remember you saying, when you came shooting with me at my permission, that I would shoot better with a properly set up rifle. put the 98 in my hands and adjust it to fit me with a decent scope on it and hey presto, getting the results now at 50 yards that I used to only get at 35-40 practice makes perfect... as for the 77, well.. she does need to smooth out a bit more, and perhaps these aren't the right pellet for her H&N FTT) as I haven't tried any others yet, she was ok at 35 yards, but really started to spread out at 50.. I should give her chance to settle and bed in a bit more and put a better scope on her and set it up right and then the results should drastically improve. watch this space Quote Link to post
