patience is the key i no how ya feel wound the life out of me as i bought a dog what was exact same my method was walking it of lead at night and every time he got ten yards id call him back worst thing to do is lose ya temper or crack it or they will stay well clear of ya another method when runnin in smaller land i lined the dog with a huge line and if he didnt come back id let him no but it worked in the end maybe people will have better opinions but worth a shot im guessing you not had it since a pup i no the feeling stood in a field hopen the feker dosent scare the next fields quarry lol atb

Ye it was a nightmare last night aving to wait 5 mins till he had hunted up all the field, I got him when he was 14 months old and he did it then but seems to be getting worse, I thought I had it sussd, we would turn the car off and stand quiet and he would come back quicker thinking we ad left him but now that dosnt Evan work.

More than likely the guy who owned this dog gave him a free rein when out lamping,so problems like that are hard to break, maybe a shock collar, chances are it will either kill or cure, had a lurcher years ago, done the same thing, first run was a nightmare,if he missed the bunny,he would run the whole field and the next one and the next one right into the next county, different dog in the daytime,i used a shock collar on him at night,it cured the problem till he run into a 5 bar gate and broke his neck.

Are you chasing any quarry in the daytime danny with the dog, sounds to me that he is keen to hunt when he sees the quarry mostly at night, has he had any rabbits in his mouth yet, the more he sees and the more he chases with a positive strike should improve him with time. Does he come back with a catch straight away or does he run off with it?
