Marking Ferrets

has anyone got any advice on marking ferrets for identifying them when out rabbiting.I have three identical jills bred this year,they are ready to start work soon i have marked them with food colouring with little sucsess. Anyone tried sheep dye. Much obliged DARKWOOD

You can cut there fur,, but be carfull,, snip the end off the tail,, the fur mind not the actual tail,,, or on the back of the neck...or of course if its just when your working them,, put something on the collars if you use them

THANKS TOMO, I SUPPOSE COLOURING THEIR COLLERS WOULD MAKE SENSE ,THOUGH I WAS THINKING OF MABYE A COLOURED SPOT ON THEIR HEADS FOR QUICK I.D

 

different tape on colours is fine on the day,then at the end of the day the collars come off and your no wiser which ones which the next time you go out LOL

The purple spray used on dogs injuries is best 1on the head 2between the shoulders and the 3 base of the tail will make it far easier to tell whats doing what

I tried different coloured marker pens then when they came out the carry box they where all rainbow colours the tape idea on the collars works if they come right out the burrow and you can see there heads clearly, the best idea was snipping a tail straight across then clipping another one between the shoulder blades . Now I work different coloured silvers and you know at a glance who,s out and who's no showed

Thanks guys some great ideas there, i got some sheep marker of a farmer today a small aerosol can, it works a treat ,might do my 15 grand kids with it aswell
