Carraghs Gem 1,675
Since ive moved... This is my setup now... Plan to expand the ferret setup soon any ideas for improvements on a limited budget? Have a foaling cam in the stable i might see if i can convert to a recordable cctv setup and there on rubber cow mats with wood shavings to absorb piss. The kennel is a plastic veg shipping pallet with straw as bedding and is well ventilated 5 Quote Link to post
BORDERSCOT 3,816
Nothing wrong with that set-up CG - those old lime mortar buildings are invariably as dry as toast..... And if the dogs are dry, warm, well fed and happy.....can't ask for much more..... Good luck..... 1 Quote Link to post

Bosun11 537
Great little improv setup there Gem, better than most folks purpose built jobs. Best of luck with it all. Quote Link to post
Carraghs Gem 1,675
Grand set up. CG do the dogs manage to get on and off their beds without banging /scraping their backs ? havent seen any problems but will keep my eye on that... I can easily take the lid off their kennel if its a problem Quote Link to post
Carraghs Gem 1,675
Great little improv setup there Gem, better than most folks purpose built jobs. Best of luck with it all. i was surprised at how it fitted in so tidy... I expected to have to put it in the hay shed which meant moving about 5 old straw bales... This was very handy... There is maybe 2ins gap between the wall and the dog run Quote Link to post
BIGLURKS 874
I couldn't complain with it be nice and cosy in them old stone built stables far better then myne mine are out in the open too much for my liking but you just got too use the space you got Quote Link to post
j316 119
i think the one ontop of the fert pen needs a good feed but the rest of setup looks pukka mate 2 Quote Link to post
chalky96 103
good setup there will be well warm and dry for the winter Quote Link to post
beast 1,884
looks pretty good to me. i use the rubber mats too, good insulation and easy to clean. to make a decent ferret run since they are inside you could just put up four walls of ply board, only got to be about 2 feet high as long as it is smooth so they cant get a grip to climb it.
