Most Memorable Shot

Some shots stand out more than others maybe a longshot, a quarry that gave you the run around ect,

Got to be my first rabbit with a 22 still stands clear as day in my head,

Anyone got some memories to share ?

6 reds in 7 shots 3 shot on the run in about 15 seconds or a fox shot in day light on the run up a fellside at about 150m it took 2 to hit but i flattend him and sent him rooling down to my feet!

Not mine but my mates two pigeons with one shot caught on video camera then the very next time out the jammy get got two crows with one shot on camera as well

Again, not mine, but:

About 10 years ago,

My buddy and me walking back to the truck through thick grass in daylight, both with our 22's carried pointing 'south', talking,

suddenly a Rabbit gets up at our feet and bolts at 'warp' speed off to my mates side of the field.

He had a big game bag in one hand, but just lifted the rifle holding the wrist of the stock, fired from the hip, and thwapp! the Rabbit

does about three full somersaults and stops stone dead about 40 yards out, the bullet caught it in the back of the head between the

ears.

A seagull about 60 yds from the beach with a stone , 45 years ago at hopton on sea , Yarmouth ....never killed it but hit it right on the head , it floated upside down for 4 or 5 min before righting itself & swimming off .....

Think the 240 yard shot with my dads .22-250 at a crow was the most memorable. Just a kid, could have a try at that crow because there was nothing else to be shot.
A 6x42 scope, very strong wind. The rifle way to big for me. Could not make the shot now. But it dropped like a rock

You shouldn't have too much trouble at 240 yards although very good shot for a kid.

 

.22-250 can be shot out to 1,000 yards in expert hands and even a hobbyist should be able to make shots at 600-700 yards with a decent scope and tables. You'll find loads of Youtube vids of 500-750yd shots by amateurs at small targets. Maybe you're just underestimating your current skill level.
