alix 0 Posted September 5, 2007 Report Share Posted September 5, 2007 hi. my whippet bitch is a swine. she is great around the house and with the children but i cant stop her from running off sometimes when i walk her she's great she'll just walk right beside me off the lead. then when i let her go in a field she looks at me and runs the other direction she wont even go in the field. anyone that can give me some advice on what to do [bANNED TEXT] her would be great. squirreltail 15 Posted September 9, 2007 Report Share Posted September 9, 2007 You obviously catch her again, sounds like high spirits, dont forget theyve got a sense of humour, mine has,they can be a bit headstrong sometimes, put some strong smelling tit bit that she loves, like smelly cheese in your pocket, and make sure she knows where it is,give her a little on the walk, if she dont run off give her a bigger bit, keep getting her to come to you and give her a titbit and lots of praise,getting a pup to come to you is really important, cant stress enough how much,also get a dog whistle they love to come back to that sound.dont forget shes still a pup.
