Cudleys Greyhound Crunch

Recommended Posts

I got a bag of that Cudleys dried meat.. 50 odd % protein..

On the bag it suggests to be fed soaked and with mixer..

How much do people use - compared to fresh meat ?? lb of soaked for 2lb of fresh ??

I would think some of that and a high protein dry would be to much ???

How do you lads use it ???

Cheers

Aye, will do captain..

I Only got a sack as I seen it today in the shop and from what Andy wrote about it..

Just need the quantities - general rule of thumb ..

Some lad I know recons you feed that with pasta & veg mix , no cibble..

I feed chicken necks - carcasses or mince with high grade cibble..

Thought I might just give this a wirl and keep it in encase I forget to defrost me stuff..

I think I'll boil it up with some brown pasta an veg for before/after a good few shifts in a dark week, if anything it will just be a change

That's what to do....don't feed every day....add it 2/3 times a week as an add on.....soak it in hot water and add to their normal meat/veg/pasta or whatever...can give them the shits if you feed too much..... It's good stuff....

Cheers for feedback lads..

Will have myself a pot noodle and measure it out..

Would folks feed pups under six months more frequently with the dry stuff or keep it to a few times a week and older dogs when the grafts more challenging ??

Probably best fed as a protein supplement rather than all the time, especially if feeding with high protein complete. After a hard night as BS suggests or when injured as there will be a need for a protein boost and occasionally for growing pups.

Protein has its place but like everything else it needs to be in balance with the other nutrients. It's a poor energy source compared with fat and carbs and excess beyond what is needed for growth and repair is a waste. Very high amounts could potentially cause some problems, fresh meats tends to only have 20% or less but supplies lots of calories from the fat it contains.

i used to use a dried meat (cant remember the brand) if a dog wasnt holding weight well when in hard work. i would give it half a cupful twice daily as well as its normal meat ration. you could almost see the flesh coming back on i think the stuff i had was about 70% protein. i would use the same again if i had the same problem.
