Firstly, if you find something. . . . and decide to hand it into a police station. . . . . and it's not claimed. . . do you get it?

 

And how do they attempt to get it back to someone?

They dont attempt to return it just hope someone rings up, after a set time if not claimed you get it but have to claim it or its auctioned. They won't ring you and say its not been handed in.

I think if no one claims it in a certain amount of days you get to keep it

if you find somthing and hand it in, after a certain time you get it bk if its not claimed, and they get it bk to someone by either someone coming in to claim it, or if theres any details on the item in question saying whom it belongs to they,l try and contact them, oh and i think its 1 year - that it has not to be claimed, what have you come across lol

Hand it at the police station you will get a receipt they will ask were you found it go back in six months if no one has laid claim to It its yours if some one claims it they will contact you to give you the chance to dispute their claim
