stealthy1 3,964
Had a look in the shed for my ginn traps, but could only find 2, I have others, but unfortunately they are behind this lot if I still have them, a mate of the Mrs wanted some traps to hang next to her log burner when she bought her cottage, hopefully she has taken the crap ones, and not the ones with the brass treads. But the two I have found are Collins number 8's. One is slightly different from the other. The top one has an iron type of metal for a tread plate, the bottom one has a think aluminium tread plate, even though the are the same make and size of trap. After a quick scrape you can see the aluminium plate. A pic of the full aluminium trap with metal peg, both traps have brass catches with a number 8 on them. 1 Quote Link to post
OldTrapCollector 377
Joseph Collins made them both - and they look like the same trap to me, albeit with different amounts of weathering. The steel plates were galvanised prior to assembly giving the 'aluminium' type look, to aid rust prevention. Thanks for taking the effort to dig them out Stealthy, it is nice to see new traps. I still get excited about rusty iron no matter how many times I see them! OTC 1 Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
Yep! They may be relics of the past, but I still like to set them off from time to time, as the teeth marks in my wire brush handle will bear testament too I will get to the others, but not until spring 1 Quote Link to post
