gnasher16 30,062
Now would I leave my children alone in a room in a foreign country so I could have a meal with friends down the road....... NO CHANCE Would you leave your child alone at the front of your gaff playing with friends ?.......Plenty do......and when them kids get snatched, raped and killed we all want to hold the parents hands and give them a big sloppy kiss !!..............Whats the difference......oh thats right the Mcanns had money theres no excuse for that. Not at 3 I wouldn't mate..... I couldn't sit out and feel comfortable knowing the kids are back in the room at such young ages, I'm no perfect parent by a long way but I couldn't do that mate. Like I've said though, they've paid the ultimate price and I'm sure there are hundreds of worse parents than them.... whether they are rich or poor doesn't matter a toss in my eyes Id certainly be curious to know how many of these folk talking such evil nastiness about these 2 people have ever let their kids play outside the house unsupervised.
stealthy1 3,964
Well I think they were a little further than they said the were, and its a lot further than fifty meters, you would have to be a hovering kestrel to see the apartment from the tapas bar, there's an aerial plan of the complex at the bottom of the link. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-24528530

At home folk know your kids, and every one looks out for each others, but not if you go abroad where no body knows you or your kids

riohog 5,701
lab would you leave your kids in another country while you went on the piss mate I don't think so Again no...... And what's this 'going on the piss'. Way I saw it was they were a stones throw away and checked every 30 mins with friends checking there children in the rooms next door. There choice! your right their choice ,and drinking how many bottles of wine etc constitutes going on the piss and checking on them every half hour well she didn't check too carefully because their saying she was took earlier than they first though they don't think they've done anything wrong ffs it must haunt them the not knowing but no way in this world would you leave 3 kids under 3yrs old alone absolutely anything could happen they left them alone on many occasions .they were all 3 just babys , .. they should be horse whipped !!

I do see what your saying...............its an accident and how bad they must feel but its all about minimising risk..................no child is ever totally safe away from the parent but what's reasonable, children playing outside would be thought of as reasonable by most but leaving a 3 year old alone shouldn't be done in your own home let alone a hotel in a foreign country! And whatever anyone says, the legal system becomes fairer, the more money you have and the more people you know!

stabba 10,745
Why was there blood in the apartment? why was there blood in the boot of the car? why did corpse sniffer dogs give a positive reading as to being a dead body in the apartment? why did they hamper/critisise every aspect of the spanish investigation. Why did they repeatedley leave the kids alone? the list is endless. The McGanns can give no reasonable explanation as to any of these allegations. Then to cap it all the mother upon finding Madeline missing then leaves the other 2 bairns unattended ffs. Where was jerry when all this was going off?? But until the truth comes out which it eventually will ..then who knows. Would i /did i ever leave my daughter in the house alone to go for a meal/drink..did i buggery....never mind in a foreign country.

Its the age of the kids that were left alone that I find shocking, 3 years old, kids still choke on their dummies at that age, never mind any other natural accidents they may befall.

By her own admission she wouldn't have known her child was missing if the wind from the open window hadn't slammed the room door shut. She sounds like a right sober caring mother to me, not.

A three year old, yes we are talking about a three year old shouldn't be left alone unsupervised at any time, I would like to think that's pretty obvious! And as for money influencing the legal system, its not meant to, in fact its one of the main legal principles, equality under the law.
