the resteraunt was only 50 meters away and they felt comfotable leaving the kids 50 meters away .i notice in life sometimes really nice people (church going types)never for one min can comprahend such evel lurks.we come from different walks in life and they felt at home doing it.i was working on a tree job once when i stopped to see someones one/2 year old walking down the middle of a road.these things happen.how many of you reading this have not locked all the house doors yet.sadly if you plan to steal a kid you probably could at some point.the shutters were down windows were closed etc.

all this said i'm not a parent so what do i know.

i think they have paid the ultimate price and calling them c***s is harsh

The only issue there is Mike, they are doctors! They know the world isn't all sunshine and lollipops, they will have seen all sorts of injuries, wounds etc over the years to know the world isn't a nice place and to look after their own kids accordingly!

A matter of choice?......we are talking about kids not a pair of f***ing shoes! Every parent in the world sometimes wishes they could just go off and do whatever they feel like without having to thin

Fair enough reply but I'm sorry matey, a mistake is when you put petrol instead of diesel in your motor, it's cutting your finger with a bread knife or forgetting to put the kids dinner money in their

I don't know how far legally no and I don't care, look at the hunting laws and its plain to see the lawmakers ain't got our best interest and common sense in mind when passing there shitty laws. I hav

Quick show of hands.

You're on holiday, in Europe.

How many of you would leave your three children, aged 3 and under, in your apartment, alone, while you go to dinner with your friends?

We're not talking for a few minutes.

We're not talking in the next room.

We're not talking playing the garden.

We're saying while you go out to a restaurant with your friends.

mate my youngest is 9 the lads 14 he can legally baby sit now

would I leave them while I went on the piss with the wife

God forbid anything happens to one of your kids and the majority disagree with your parental judgement and brandish you unfit parents and as I have read tonight elsewhere "they should burn in hell"...... But who cares I'm a mere c**t!!! f**k off!!!!

In this case, these specific set of circumstances, would you leave your toddlers alone while you went for a meal?

No..... But that's my choice as it was the McCanns choice.

I was treated by Mr McCann about a year after Madeleine went missing - I have seen him up close, I have looked him in the eye and I believe him to be a good and decent man.

He and his wife made a decision that they have regretted every day since, and one that will haunt them for the rest of their days, whatever the outcome.

How many parents leave their children unattended while on holiday, without incident? We only hear of one appalling tragedy, and how do some respond? By blaming the victims !

come on gnash nobody's saying their perfect parents,

but who on here would leave their kids in their apartment while they went on the piss

No fair enough.........the hunting community obviously breeds a far superior class of parent to everybody who was around the Mcanns table that night...............im sure on a holiday " piss up " amongst hunters the kids would be sat on mummy and daddys knee until 7.30 before going back to the apartment for a bedtime story........Wish id been into hunting when my kids were young i could of taken some invaluable lessons off some of these lads.

What an honour to be in the company of such perfectly fantastic parents............even if it is just the internet.

 True. Think on this, how many of you have said come on the baby will sleep for another hour only to be caught out when they wake unexpected. I do not believe anyone thinks that their child will be abducted. I would not do it but some might, if children have a recognised sleep pattern is it so bad to assume that the pattern will carry on and the children will sleep for the usual amount of time?

Every one assumes that the bar was miles away yet it was less than a minutes walk away from the apartment. To draw a parody the child that was attacked by a fox in it's own bed. Were the parent negligent because they only knew the fox was there by the childs cry? They allowed the fox access to their child, no matter how safe they thought the child was tucked up in it's own bed.

It is easy to point the finger, think of how with one little quirk of fate, how things could be very different with every incident.

f**k me this thread just keeps going....

Their judgement was proven wrong... they lost their kid... ffs that must be the highest price to pay,...

It's nothing to do with perfect parenting, every parent fucks up daily.... but 99.9% of the time you don't lose your child....

Now would I leave my children alone in a room in a foreign country so I could have a meal with friends down the road....... NO CHANCE

do you sympathise with the Mc Canns ?

1/ they are two professional people who are both doctors

2/ both will have made comments in their professional capacities about child welfare

3/these type of people who WE pay to make decsisions and comments for our welfare broken all the rules

4/ I have no feeling at all for them but only for the little girl who is missing

5/ Mrs McCann in my eyes is a hartless cow who only regrets the attention the media has brought to her because of her shortfall
