Guest mush
Nice one lucky and great pic's as always. Whats the Wheaton dog like, a mate of mine kept bull x's and fells for years with out any real trouble until he got a Wheaton first x's, the Wheaton went for one of his bull x's over nothing , he end up in hospital from trying to separate the two dogs, and he had to put the two dogs down. Are wheatons all like that or was it just a bad one? or are they better watered down? Quote Link to post
lucky 578
this was my dog originally but i gave it to a mate because he would'nt entertain fox. the dog is exellent on daytime hare and deer and he's very placid, never any trouble with other dogs or livestock. Quote Link to post
Guest mush
seen a few at shows but the one i said about is the only one ive seen first hand. Quote Link to post
celt 1
Wheatens can be like that, I think I have posted before that they are dynamite..in Ireland a few years ago they used to cros them with staffs to jaz them up abit for the pit. I have always found them very game and easily provoked. Celt Quote Link to post
Stabs 3
My wheaten cross was as soft as f**k around dogs. When I had Chilli down for a rake about, the wheaten kept well away from his bull cross bitch and to some she'd seem a bit shy. That all changed though when she felt she was being threatened by another dog, she'd go f*****g mental....and I mean proper mental. She'd take so much and then.....BANG! Breaking stick time. Such a powerful animal and that wheaten drive really came through in that girl. Once her prey drive switched on at about 11/12 months, I found it better to run her without other dogs, or if this couldn't be avoided, I made sure that no other dog went anywhere near her when she had quarry in her mouth. Old pic of Grip - SBT/Wheaten. Hope Bolio won't mind me sticking this up. Quote Link to post
