No mate you can't just leave poison laying around for non target species to eat ... You need a bait box ........

plain old cardboard box and bait blocks will save chibbled bits all over the house

if theres no other food source you wont need any other attractor than the bait but as i said blocks are the usual choice, have you thought about sticky pads?
