foxtails 272 Posted October 14, 2013 Report Share Posted October 14, 2013 is there anyone on this site that can fix ferret finder collars be it mk1 mk3 mk3m , i know for a fact they can be fixed, but havent a clue how to fix them myself ! surely someone must be able to or knows a man that can ? foxtails 272 Posted October 14, 2013 Author Report Share Posted October 14, 2013 Thought you had somebody to fix them for you?... ... i did have a guy that could fix any ferret finder box and ANY collar, but i sent him a load boxes to fix and 1 came bk the same as i sent it, i dont know weather he forgot/made a mistake or what but when i let him know i think it hurt his pride or somthing as hes not fixing them for me anymore but iv sent him a few broken collars and they came bk not only fixed but looking like brand new, so i know for a fact they can be fixed no problem, but someone just needs to know how ? The one 8,486 Posted October 15, 2013 Report Share Posted October 15, 2013 The collars cant be fixed the wires that act as the areil are set in the resin even melting the resin causes them to break and there f****d . i tried it with the guys from the electrical dept at university they even sliced one to see how they where made up , same with the mk1 boxes they reckoned they could make them for penny's but with the components numbers scratched off it would take years to find what components where used . With Pipa selling new collars at £38 just bin them and buy new Quote Link to post

Philluk 181 Posted October 22, 2013 Report Share Posted October 22, 2013 (edited) Not sure where to post this but I think here maybe a good start, I have found in my draw a brand new cover for the early grey box type ferret locater never been used. first one to reply gets it just send me me a 7 inch jiffy bag with sae I will post it to them. if anyone wants it send me a pm and post here that you have got it to save others doing the same.
