tillylamp 1,830
hi, I used to have a non turbo impreza sport wagon and the engine in this is identical to the forester, mine wasn't to bad on fuel I used to get about 270 miles to a tank of fuel at about £65 to fill it up, the forester you want is the gls model,i think they do a bit more to the gallon, "well my mates did", and also my wagon had the hi/low ratio gearbox the same as the forester, the forester has got better a ground clearance than mine but it didn't stop me going across fields though, over all they are a very good car, good engine, good load space, and reliable with a good buying price. hope this helps, tillylamp

garethf 1
I've got a x reg non turbo. Had it for around 6 years now and still going strong. Great for my life style with ferreting and shooting around the fields.
Dubba 72
Got a XT turbo auto that's my daily drive, I thrash the bollox's out of it. Get about 25 mpg driving it like that which I don't thinks to bad, although it is compared to a lot.
andy s410c 61
Been running a 04 XT Forester for 2yrs now & it's a fantastic motor to drive, never flickered mechanically.Usual wear & tear suspects have been replaced, front ball joints & front ARB bushes. Not much difference in fuel usage between the N/A & Turbo...my advice get a Turbo...enjoy
