B.P.R 2,798
Had a go... at making a few bandsets tonight.... id dabbled with them in the past.... bit always thought it was just easier to buy them off fleabay for around the £5 mark... Trouble was.... when gifting away catapults it left me out of pocket... or when helping mates... so usually had to ask for the cost of bands... So took the hit... and got the kit required and was surprised at how cheap is was... Roller cutter- £4 Metal ruler- £2 Cutting mat-£4 And a length of theraband gold... 1m- £6...(just to get started) .... Didnt amount to much... and was extremely easy to make decent (i think) bandsets... Made a couple for myself... a couple for my lad and re-banded his catty... If anybody is thinking about it... its well worth the punt... and is sure to save you a serious amount of ££££ if your in for the long haul

Sheffield Catapults 71
Try using waxed cobblers twine to tie your pouch ends instead of using rubber, it will make them considerably lighter and faster. You will also get a lot less band slap, especially when using a large pouch.
B.P.R 2,798
The inner strands of paracord seem to work well... not waxed but had a couple of bandsets made with it and all have held?..
Sheffield Catapults 71
Being waxed just helps stop them from cutting into the rubber, you can make your own with a block of wax just as effective.
whipbed 42
will need to try the waxed stuff but up till now i use very thin asda excercise band cut into short but very stretchy lenghts to tie at the pouch.[same sort of thing as torsten on slingshot forum] it weighs very little compared to theraband gold and so far has never been the reason for a broken band. obviosly the bands do break eventualy, especialy with a mega taper but they usualy go about 2cm from the pouch.
