northern lad 2,292
Having been around KC show people for years (good and bad) Ive got to say theres more crabbing and sniping goes on in working dogs regarding breeding than I ever imagined, some precious types on here for sure, the fact that Brown and Hancock are still around surely proves theyre doing something right at least Quote Link to post

cocker 2,654
at least you know what you are buying off both of these men, and they dont tell lies about what the pups parents can do. ive met and bought dogs off both of these men and both are genuine enough men, and the pups i bought turned into workers that exceeded my expectations, the whippets i bought off mike brown won at many whippet coursing club, coursing meetings, and the collie greyhounds i bought of david hancock would catch as many rabbits in a night as any man would want to carry 8 Quote Link to post

cocker 2,654
best thing a dog man can do instead of buying dogs in all of the time is have his own workers which hes reared from pups, trained them, tried and tested them over the years and then breed his own pups for his own use, from them if you kept those pups/dogs between you and a few close friends, thats you sorted 6 Quote Link to post
JAE B 549
whats the difference between the two, mike brown churns out to many litters surely he is a peddler. because hancocks been called a peddler because he churns them out aswell. also we know hancock don't work his dogs but does mike brown atb you've just answered it mike brown works his hancock don't simples Quote Link to post
lurchers4life 103
How can you say mike brown and hancock breed for money? Unless everyone on here gives there pups away for free then we all make profits Quote Link to post

littlefish 585
A genuine question .....why is it considered such a sin to breed dogs , if we assume that the dogs are well fed , exercised and generally well looked after , if a bit of consideration is given to the breeding about the attributes required ( and I know this is not always the case )if there is a market for the dogs bred then why are breeders considered such low lifes ? I don't want to argue , but would appreciate peoples views . True......one could have the 'best bred dog in the country'......but unless the appropriate patience, training, time and vision go into that animal...you may as well...'.pish in the wind'.... 1 Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
One breeds a couple of litters a year maybe. . . the other always has pups and saplings available, often multiple litters at once. . . . . Quote Link to post
