stevemac 433
do your lurchers hang out to pick up bolters or do you hold them back. I know my lot would be in with the hounds. Quote Link to post
fox digger 1,086
no they are held outside the cover steve, the only time they with the hounds is if the fox got back in mate. Quote Link to post

fox digger 1,086
that seems to be the story accross the board with anyone i talk to, its just to mild i think, it was raining last sun when we were out but still sweating when only walking, dead and heavy kinda weather and its def not good weather for scent. ive 3weeks hols bookd from work startin this weekend so im hopin to god it improves and we get some decent cubbing done! Rebel 833
Same down our way, scent is very poor. Anyone I have been speaking to have the same complaint. Out last Sunday and flying in the cover, but once they hit green fields they struggled with the scent. Quote Link to post
thefootman 17
Myself and another lad went out with just half a dozen hounds of our own last Saturday morning. We found at 8.45 and never stopped until 11.45 put two to ground and hunted another cub. Scent was very good and the hounds were flying, we only quit when a farmer came out and asked us to finish up as he had cattle to move. We went out with the full pack on Sunday had around 30 out, but it was useless, scent was poor, hounds knew it too and they were listless and did not have anything like the same enthusiasm as the previous day. 2 Quote Link to post
Rebel Pack 8
Scent had been very inconsistent until Sunday. Had a late start in the morning, rose at about 12.30 and flew for best part of 3 hours, matey was clever and ran through a large field of sheep on three separate occasions which lost hounds some time, eventually they hit it off well again and put a fair bit of pressure on him, subsequently putting him in and accounting for. Hopefully a sign of scent improving and making for better days to come. RP 2 Quote Link to post
