Those smart meters are pretty good. When we got ours I seemed to spend loads of time wondering round the house like some sort of energy nazi switching stuff off etc. I got a rebate of about £400 if I remember rightly when they readjusted the bill when we got the smart meter fitted

Most of us are having to feel the pinch, but those fuckers who have money invested in the energy market don't. They can't take a bit of a cut in their precious profits, they just pass it on to the rest of us.. Was listening to some minister on about new nuclear power stations earlier and all.. , Who's building them? EDF energy, % owned by the French state. So the French government will be paid to build nuclear power stations here in the UK and then get to sell even more energy here and reap the rewards. What's wrong with our government building them and selling the energy to us? At least the money would be going back into this country instead of pissing off across the channel and being handed out to the French public..

 

The whole nuclear thing is to be blamed on the anti nuclear power campaigners from the 80s. I know a couple of people who worked in the nuclear industry one a scientist who designed components and they both said that basically because we walked away from nuclear years ago the country stopped investing as a result there are almost no skills in nuclear energy in this country anymore to the extent that we do not have the skills to build our own plants. Beggars believe doesn't it.

F**king tell me about it. Even the wife is as bad as my eldest daughter was before she left home. I work from home thank god so I can go round turning everything off although the wifey isn't as bad now since I told her we weren't going to be able to afford a holiday next year

£600 plus a qtr last year for my gas ---- I`ve fitted the coal fire in one room and I`m in 2 minds weather to stick a log burner in the other one -- and I`m going to invest in hot water bottles fleece blankets and some pjs me n the mrs are rattling round in a big old house n fook does it take some heating I`m away to a bungalow next year .. ..

I can bulk buy fleece blankets and hot water bottles arch ---but I`m fooked if I`m buying pjs in your size they`d cost a fortune

We lead the world in fusion research though, they aren't far away from cracking it. I don't know why they don't pile money into it until they have got it sorted.. Once those scientists have done their work we'll probably only sell it to foreigners to build for us anyway..
