kranky 507
invasive alien species could easily mean feral cat, but as it happens she actually said invasive avian species or maybe she meant avian species as per the guidelines http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:hpaz_MgtDdAJ:https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/237366/Guide_Firearms_Licensing_Law_2012-13_chapter_13.pdf+&cd=2&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk as for your nightly 200yrd plus slips then you crack on mate but its always best to identify whats at the end of the beam and at 200yrds plus it is something i personally couldn't do in the dark even with a good lamp As for the member who posted this he joined yesterday morning, posted this as his first post, waited 20 minutes for it to approved and then logged off, obviously a windup 13.21 Self-loading shotguns (‘semi-automatic’ is defined in section 27 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 as capable of holding more than two rounds in the magazine and applies only to large magazine shotguns (and .22RF)) may be used to shoot certain pest species under the terms of a licence from either Natural England, Scottish National Heritage, or the Natural Resource Wales but is applicable to avian species only. Large- magazine shotguns may be required to deal with serious pest problems with wood pigeon or corvids (rooks and crows). It is acceptable for self-loading shotguns to be used for mammal pest species including rabbits and squirrels. Once “good reason” is established for avian vermin control, shotguns of this kind may be allowed for taking other small vermin (including mammals such as squirrels and rabbits) Thanks for that, although as previously stated, I own a Practical Shotgun club and have all my section 1 shotguns conditioned for vermin. If your FEO had conditioned your licence as you stated for Invasive Avian Species then you'd have only been allowed to shoot Canada's, Ring Necked Parakeets, Ruddy Ducks etc. Woodpigeons, crows and rooks are native and not classed as invasive. If you can't see 200 yards then that's unfortunate but please have the dignity not to dismiss it as impossible. I can't skateboard but I won't tell the kids jumping off of the steps outside Tesco that it's impossible. Get a proper red LED lamp and then go out. I was out with another member off of here last night and we spotted 2 fox in excess of 200 yards and not only could we identify them we also watched as they moved about and continued to mooch about. If you believe that the way you reacted to the new members post was acceptable and that this is an isolated incident and completely out of character for yourself then there's nothing more I can say. read above it says "but as it happens she actually said invasive avian species or maybe she meant avian species as per the guidelines http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search? i also stated when i asked, not what's on my ticket, this thread was started as a windup has again i have already stated, so if taking the piss out of someone taking the piss offends you then sorry but i can not help that. if you want to keep slipping at things in the distance thats your choice we all learn from our mistakes. What she meant and what you said she said are 2 different things. As I said before, she's obviously a bit clueless and you'd be careful not to take heed of anything she says lest you become tarred with the same brush. You can take the piss out of whoever you want, if you do it to me then I'll come back at you and if you do it to newbies you've got to expect to be treated with the contempt that those comments deserve. You obviously haven't learnt from your mistakes or you'd have got yourself a decent lamp or a dog that can run a bit. I've been at this running dog lark a bit longer than you so please don't feel offended if I don't take any notice of your incorrect advice. Link to post
