skycat 6,173
The other thing you need to remember is that if the vaccines haven't been stored at the correct temperature (2-7C) they become inactive and therefore don't work! How many people have bought vaccines at shows etc and the vaccines may be only come out of a picnic type cold box, or maybe not even that! Many years ago I bought a load of vaccines from someone who was a bit of a dealer in all sorts of things: I jabbed my dogs up: was it coincidence that several rescue pups that were vaccinated with these jabs succombed to a 'type of infectious enteritus' (vet's description: it wasn't conclusively proven to be parvo) a few weeks later? gnipper 6,467
Cheap wormers is one thing but jabs is their whole life your messing with, what are they like £20? You have the dog for life after that.
Eggy 0
nice one mate good luck with her. just had to get my dog for this season put down because of parvo ive got two other dogs in the shed and they alright but i injected them two, i was realingon hancock because he said he ingected this one. might get a pup like your fawn one cracking dogs mate. rob. Cheers Eggy i bought mine from a vet chemist just didnt go to a vet to get it done and its cheaper in ireland for it than in england for some wierd reason dont know why to be honest...but im not cheap [bANNED TEXT] it come to my dogs just i have done it before to nearly all my dogs so i did it to him too and all my dogs are perfect and wouldn't buy shit from any of these stall or anything be f****d up.... It IS illegal in the UK for vaccines to be bought/sold by anyone except a Veterinary Practice..i personally wouldnt take the chance on one of my dogs for the sake of £60..there are places that sell vaccines that are brought over from Southern Ireland that some of the show people use, but, as someone else pointed out, who knows if they have been stored under the right conditions. No need to use [bANNED TEXT;-] I appreciate that it's cheaper & legal in ireland...no probs mate but the UK is vet prescription only! Recently a unqualified vet has been jailed in england prescribing presciption only! Cheers Eggy
Guest Frank
In southern Ireland, we have allways bought vaccines in vet chemists. These are kept in the right conditions and work well. The vets have exactly the same vaccines and storage conditions, as i buy mine from a vet, that owns a chemist aswell, far cheaper that way. Its all leagle. What you pay the vet is just labour over here, better to buy it and do it yourself, simple. Frank.
redmoor 0
No, i dont think they are made in SI, but its not illegal to buy them across there, i know that a lot of the show people buy what they need across there and bring it back into the UK to try and combat high vet fees across in the UK.
