Malt 379
The made a big mistake and by god are they paying for it now. I don't think for one minute they give to flying fucks how they are portrayed in the media, it just happens its looked upon that way. If someone offered me a million pounds or find the wee lassie id take finding her. The smile on there faces would be priceless to me. Why did they hire Max Clifford then mate? The master of manipulating media images for the rich and famous.. I'm sure they've also threatened to sue a few times when anything that could hint at portraying them in a negative way has been mentioned in the press..
scothunter 12,609
i sincerley hope she does turn up one day. it justy irritates me everytime i see them on tv blaming other folk. bottom line is if they were half decent parents they would still have there kid.for everything that happens to kids before this incident and after,if i was a parent i wouldnt let them out my sight. f**k on the rare occasion i watch my mates kids there under my eagle eye from the min they are dropped off till there mum and dad picks them back up. NEWKID 27,158
Whether they're to blame or not, I think it's harsh to call them c**ts because they're trying everything possible to keep it in the lime light and get her back... Now everyone knows it was a stupid thing to leave her but f**k me I can't imagine the guilt they feel everyday for that mistake...
gnasher16 30,118
I really feel for them loosing a kid and all, but if they were a couple from a council estate somewhere on a cheap end of season holiday they'd be called every single name under the sun in the press for leaving those kids alone to go for a meal in a foreign country.. It's not as if this sort of thing hadn't happened before in Portugal either.. It's only because they could afford to hire publicists and lawyers with enough gravity to threaten legal action against powerful media corporations they haven't been absolutely vilified in the press. Surely as a parent though you would do whatever it took if it was going to help get your kid back......i doubt morals and principals really come into it when desperation like that come into it. To a degree mate.. It's the spending loads of money to make sure they're portrayed they way they want to be portrayed in the media that sticks in my throat mate.. Thats a fair point.
keepdiggin 9,561
wouldn't wish what they've been through on my worst enemy, they f****d up but bloody hell they are paying for it now.
Gaz_1989 9,539
Shoot me down here but just suppose, they gave her too much sedative that night... It has already been said that they regularly sedated her to get her to sleep because she was hyperactive. Both parents were high end professionals in the medical industry. How could they turn around and tell the police they accidentally killed their daughter? The sedative was found in the boot of the hire car. How would that get there? The ONLY witness who saw Madeleine being carried away from the hotel was one of the friends the parents was dining with. She saw close enough to get a full description of the man and the pyjamas the girl was wearing. But didn't recognise that it was her friends daughter being carried away... Maybe she was abducted though

Thats such an easy thing to say though mate................we can all be great parents for a few hours here and there................real life dictates you cant keep a 24 hour vigil on kids you just do your best and nobodies perfect.....................................and im certainly not saying whats what as i was no shining example as a parent

scothunter 12,609
i just made the topic to see if maybe i was being a tad harsh towards them,. and your right gnash im only doing the role of a parent for an evening or few hours, however i would like to think i would be a more responsible person if i were a father. funnily enough i heard years ago they were swingers and slipping the kids something while they did what they did isnt a new story,BUT it was just hearsay. Waz 4,262
Theyve hired the best people to represent them, and the worst people to find their missing daughter....... & that cadaver dog, think he's called Eddie, i'd trust him more than trust the McCanns....
