PaulEamonn 37
Get a bigger gun cabinet? Just a thought. Eminently sensible suggestion Reaper. However, it's not that old and I neither want nor can afford to take the hit on selling it second hand and then adding more money to the pot to buy another one. A couple of inches off the barrel would likely be the cheaper option. Quote Link to post

That too is a good idea Kurt. However, the reason my gun cabinet is too short is that it's got an internal ammo safe. I'm not sure what my FEO would say about me hacking a hole in the floor of the bit that I keep all of my .22LR bullets in. Added to that, I must confess, I'm the clumsiest git around. Unless I had a 4" diameter hole I'd be forever clouting the mod while putting the gun away. That wouldn't do much for my zero! 1 Quote Link to post
smithie 2,443
When I bought my cabinet I bought a 7 gun cabinet just in case I wanted more guns in the future. No ammo safe in it but only 150 notes from brighouse gun shop Quote Link to post
mjr88 50
I've found that, provided I grab hold of the barrel just below the mod with the other hand while unscrewing the mod, I've never found any problems with the barrel coming loose. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As above I too was worried when I bought my HW100s after reading about the barrel coming loose when removing the mod Follow the above advice and you won't have any problems, John Edited October 11, 2013 by mjr88 Quote Link to post
