Common problem, I’ve had to do several of my HW100’s due to the barrel turning when fitting or removing the moderator,

Remove the stock, remove the air cylinder, take note of the barrel orientation in the breech, remove the small angled barrel retaining locking bolt (allen key) on the underside, pull out barrel from breech, thoroughly clean barrel end and inside breech, assemble dry and tighten up locking nut when the barrel is correctly orientated into breech, refit cylinder and stock; simples.

Regards, Steve

i have already seen to the mag. i slackened off the grub screw a bit and got lucky. the mag slips in/out with ease

i just need to wait till i have time now to try it and look at the groupings.

i thought i was going to have to go to gun shop with it and swap it with a pocket full of cash for something newer...

thanks for the help

I was talking to Tench about my HW100 and he mentioned that some people over-tighten the grub screw that holds the barrel in place. This results in it being pushed back into the block further than it should be and this causes problems.

Just 'tweak' up the grub screw when you replace the barrel and, provided you've followed A1WOC's advice and put it back 'dry', you shouldn't have any more problems.

I daren't remove my silencer incase the barrel comes loose lol. its quiet enough for me as it is with the standard hw silencer anyway.

hope you get your sorted tho mate, amazing rifles !

Skot - I've got the FAC version and, because of the long barrel, I have to remove my mod every time I put it into the gun cabinet.

I've found that, provided I grab hold of the barrel just below the mod with the other hand while unscrewing the mod, I've never found any problems with the barrel coming loose.
