This dog out of chuckles 1987. Put my heart and soul into this dog and he was showing very good potential. Gone at just over 2 years of age.

Tough one that Darbo.....

it was colin i can see you have been there yourself.i still think about this dog from all those years ago. some stick in your mind.

I still run the what ifs over in my head from time to time and that must be 25 years ago....I might see a dog that reminds me of the Paddy dog or one of my lot might do something that reminds me....and it all comes back....

I lost a good half x bitch that done everything this type should last I saw of her alive she was behind a fallow and me and friends found her dead in the woods. But one of the worst feelings is having a dog that you've put a years worth of effort into start opening up on quarry.

25yr ago my mates wee bitch flipped over at the exact moment she caught a bunny as it went into a hole, i broke every traffic law to get her to a vet quick, turned out she'd torn her windpipe from her lungs, all heart the wee thing........ rip brinnie

biggest one for me is my white dog turning dog aggressive .... which now means how i walk and work him as had to change as if he spots a dog in the distance he will run for it ...

so its lamping only and walks on a lead all the time

Know what you mean mate, one of my dogs is this way, got to have eyes in the back of your head when out with him and he's off the lead, lot of the time he has to be kept on a lead, and misses out on a lot of free running it's a sickener for me and the dog

i say mine would have to be my first lurcher yapping behind a hare and then telling the oldman what he had done he never saw another meal and me trying to be clever with just one last run when the dog had a enough lost a good loyal dog that night through no fault of his own

My biggest dissapointment has got of been my black dog I have just lost due to thieving scum had him 4 years put all I could into him biked him all year round run him hard tested him n he never broke. He was loyal and the best dog on all quarry you could put infront of him. We had that much of a bond he wouldn't go with no-one else and as a pup he wudnt settle and my Mrs said he's got to go so it took months of an air bed in kitchen then living room the finally fully alone to keep him from goin and taking him work him destroying seat belts car seats. Clothes. Everything that div cost me some money but I would never of let him go for nothing had him at 6 weeks

My first lurcher Rocky. I spent 12 months battling with this dog. Mentally and physically. Everything from recall, stock breaking, retrieving, food aggression. You name it. We went through it.

Finally after months of seeking advice off loads of people and driving down to see skycat and spending the day with her we started making progress.

The time came for his first night on the lamp.

First slip. Bang. Rabbit caught. Lap of honour and retrieved almost to hand. I was over the moon.

Second slip. Bang. Dead. Hit a tree at top speed.

Gutted wasn't the word.

I learnt so much off this dog though...
