Astanley 11,576 Posted October 4, 2013 Report Share Posted October 4, 2013 I rarely stay long on the lurcher section nowdays , The pursuit of the mysterious "long ear or big bunny "seem to bring out the worst in people , The general section is quieter than it was , because as has been said , the people who contributed the most and had interesting or controversial stuff to bang on about also have a little bit of diva in their make up and arnt on at the moment , As a ps I was at a show the other week and over heard someone refer to the general section as "Labs grooming parlour " Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Lots of reasons why I would think...... Thing if though if there's a topic any way interesting or sensible and you still don't bother putting in your 10 pence worth your just adding nails to the coffin. First thing I would do to right it would to be stopping guests,if you have to log on to read your a lot more likely to join in,where as most people now just read as guests to take away the temptation to reply. Its def dragged the site down, Come on Ian and mods get tough on trolls and if their mates complain ban them also. think that's some of the problem and some of the decent posters of the past happen to be dummy spitters aswelli agree stig, but the trouble is now a lot of stuff is illgle and the mods wont let a lot topics stay up, and most ones that do stay up turn into a bitching match!Only topics we regularly remove are the ones that could get the poster into trouble with the law and the bitch fests.. They constitute a tiny minority of the posts that members put up on a daily basis, you'd think we locked every other topic the way you're going on... no doubting this thread will turn into a bitch fest before the days done.. even on a hunting forum of this size eventually if you have been a member long enough theres not much new to read that has not been covered umpteen times before, members in this position usually choose to take a break or not post for while, the reality is very few posts are removed daily, the same with banning members, more duplicate accounts are removed than actual members, hopefully as the season goes on perhaps some good posts of days out will be posted. any post is treated on its own merit but illegal post can not be allowed as they can be used to cause far more damage to the sport than the ego gained by the poster, as for individual sections each is only as good as the content thats posted in it, if some of you think that a section could do with perking up then get typing rather than moaning, im sure a lot of you have some great tales to tell rather than axes to grind, Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Its def dragged the site down, Come on Ian and mods get tough on trolls and if their mates complain ban them also. this is pritty hypicrytical as everyone has said something not positive ,.........at some time during there thl career......I for one have when I felt the need,......... yet again they will all jump on the band wagon and protect there internet reputation....... just read your post paulas and well said.......on a forum people are always going too disagree on debates...........whats not good for one man it is for the next.........you see the top posters or the old time greats lol..............they follow suit like fecking lost sheep...... it aint going to get any better, that's for sure .......with things tightening around the ban etc.... Not this forum so much but others that used to be bristling with activity are now dead and im sure social media killed them off because the ex members (the ones I 'friended' ) are now happily chatting away on Facebook. Huan72 687 Posted October 4, 2013 Report Share Posted October 4, 2013 I think people might be a bit reluctant to post if the post is not the "common view" because although most people will reply to differing opinions and enjoy a debate, they probably don't wanna be told to off etc when its only their 2nd post ! Saying that though not many sites would have such a range of opinions, experience and knowledge as this one. Just like when some one looses a dog, people reply with genuine messages and then are enjoying banter on another topic, its the range of characters and subjects that make this site pretty much unique......IMO.
