obi2 239
My oldes bitch is one of the best dogs I have ever owned. I have never taken a litter from her and would love a pup from her to carry her genes on. I'm worried 7 is to old for a first litter. Is it wirtj the risk at this stage of her life. I have her half brother here so a pup from him will still carry some of her traits hopefully do all is not lost if I decide not to breed. What are your thoughts? Thanks Quote Link to post

Thanks If she is past it she wont get a proper season. If she is healthy it should be ok in my limited opinion. I have mated bitches of 6. One in particular i remember,it was her first litter and she just didnt know what to do when it came to giving birth. She needed help from the vet but otherwise had a very healthy litter. How is your bitch bred by the way? Quote Link to post

jagd.lad 31
a mate of mine had a litter from hes bitch at 5 and then a repeat mating when the bitch was 8 its up to you what you do mate personally i think thats the best age to breed from her you know shes a grafter and youve then got a pup from her to follow in her foot steps when her times up. atb Quote Link to post
